COURSE PRESENTATION
The course is about how to improve the success of scientific medical journals. It looks at what editors should know about the editorial wheel in order to be successful and improve the quality of what they publish and how this affects the journal's impact.

An editor must: 
Know how to attract better content and work with authors; 
Have a good understanding of the peer review process and models; 
Know how to deal with publishing ethics and ethical problems related to peer review; 
Know how to increase the visibility and impact of the journal.

We aim to provide editors (or future editor candidates) of scientific medical journals with the necessary skills to understand the importance of editing medical journals and to become effective editors, knowing all the rules and responsibilities of an editor in the medical field. 

We also want to empower editors or future candidates, helping them to make their journals more visible, with greater impact and quality content.

  1. Know the history of medical editing and publishing
  2. Know publishing standards and good editorial practices
  3. Know the platforms for editing medical journals, know how to use them
  4. Recognize the responsibility of collaborating with authors, and how to coordinate with reviewers.
  5. Be able to implement strategies that will obtain good articles
  6. Know how to anticipate, identify and manage ethical problems
  7. Be able to develop and implement techniques to raise the visibility of the journal
