COURSE PRESENTATION
Osteotomies are some of the hardest procedures to master as an orthopaedic surgeon. Extensive preoperative and cadaver/model training is required to achieve the expected proficiency level.

This course aims to provide advanced specific training in femoral and pelvic osteotomies. The course will cover adult and paediatric hip pathology. Through case analysis we will discuss indications and surgical techniques.

Experienced surgeons will share their experience providing tips and tricks as well as the pitfalls for each procedure. Different osteotomies will be performed in a cadaver lab under the supervision of hip subspeciality surgeons.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Orthopaedic surgeons, paediatric orthopaedic surgeons and orthopaedic residents (5th or 6th year) with motivation and special interest in developing skills on hip surgery.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES >> KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO DEVELOP
  1. Learning and improvement of knowledge on the different hip osteotomies with special focus on the indications of each specific osteotomy, surgical technique and pitfalls, and prevention of complications
  2. Practice deformity analysis and develop preoperative planning
  3. Improve/ develop surgical skills in the cadaver lab
  4. Improve assessment and management of femoral acetabular deformities in a clinical setting
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Only orthopaedic surgeons, paediatric orthopaedic surgeons and orthopaedic residents (5th or 6th year) will be accepted. Candidates must present a CV and motivation letter. Selection will be made based on these documents.
