COURSE PRESENTATION
The Course on Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in Dermatology focuses on the application of cosmetic and laser therapies on the skin. This Course is intended to provide stimulating and up-to-date data on a wide range of therapeutic options for clinicians involved in cosmetic and laser dermatological treatment.

The Course on Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in Dermatology comprises two “nested” components: Cosmetic dermatology & Laser, light and energy devices in Dermatology.

In the Cosmetic dermatology component will be provided an in-depth understanding of properties and practical use of aesthetic techniques including detailed demonstration of skin surface active procedures, neurotoxin protocols, tissue augmentation and collagen synthesis induction. Recommendations for optimizing outcomes and minimizing complications will be discussed.

Laser therapy in Dermatology component will focus on the properties and practical use of laser to treat skin lesions and in skin rejuvenation. Detailed hand-on sessions as well as recommendations for optimizing outcomes and minimizing complications will be included.

  1. Categorise the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and differentiate it from associated
  2. Utilise the concepts of beauty and appearance in developing a comprehensive understanding of the aesthetic aspects of the anatomy of the face.
  3. Demonstrate a sound in-depth understanding of patient assessment
  4. Analyse the mechanism of action and clinical result of surface active procedures (SAPs) .
  5. Demonstrate appropriate skills in the performance of non-laser SAPs
  6. Analyse the characteristics and role of toxins in treating cosmetic conditions.
  7. Formulate treatment plans for fat dissolving injections
  8. Analyse the physics and safety of laser and light based surface active procedures
  9. Create comprehensive treatment plans to avoid/minimize treatment complication and improve after care
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Preference will be given to professionals with academic background in Dermatology
