COURSE PRESENTATION
Paediatric Neuroimaging has long passed the idea that children are just “small adults”, having become a complex subspecialisation with specific problems, protocols and pathologies. A frontier that we are still to overcome is the division in pre and postnatal imaging, as if the foetus and newborn child are two independent beings.

Just as children are not small adults, foetuses are not just small children, and their central nervous system respond differently to insults depending on gestational age. In this course we aim to bridge the gap between fetal and postnatal paediatric imaging, which is not only important to fully understand pathologies but also essential in comprehending the normal evolution of brain development in vivo.

With a more practical approach to this course, we further aim to provide the attendees with tools to report and interpret paediatric exams. We also set ourselves apart by not only providing workshops, but also hands-on at the workstation exam interpretation, allowing attendees to come face to face with difficulties they may have, and be able to solve them with the experts in real time.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Radiologists and Neuroradiologists in training.
Specialist Radiologists and Neuroradiologists wishing to update their knowledge in Paediatric Neuroradiology.
Neuropaediatricians or paediatricians wishing to improve knowledge of imaging techniques and findings.
Basic knowledge of imaging techniques (MRI and CT) is advisable to be able to adequately follow the lectures.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES >> KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO DEVELOP
  1. To familiarize oneself with the general and particular safety and protocols to be applied in prenatal and paediatric MRI
  2. To acquire an overview knowledge of the gamut of pathologies when imaging patients of paediatric age
  3. To help develop practical diagnostic approaches to paediatric neuro-pathologies
  4. To integrate prenatal and postnatal imaging findings in Neuroimagin
  5. To integrate Neuroradiologic findings with genetic, clinical and surgical diagnosis and treatment
  6. To provide essential practical training in
